Bikini season is finally here! If you’ve been following me for a while know, you know that summer is by far by favorite season, and I am a total beach girl! Growing up in Southern California and going to college in Miami, I’ve spent the better part of my life in a swimsuit. I have an extensive swimwear collection, and every year I usually add 2-3 new suits to keep up with the latest trends.

Quarantine has definitely put a damper on things with trips and vacations being cancelled, beaches being closed, etc. However, summer is NOT cancelled, and neither is bikini season. In times like these, it’s more important than ever that we find ways to get outdoors and get some Vitamin D. Whether it be in a kiddie pool in your backyard, or a greenbelt near your home, there are still plenty of ways to soak up the summer sun.

A lot of the swimsuits from that post now are still available and heavily discounted which is another great reason to check it out!

Okay back to 2020. Nothing is more motivating to get outdoors and stay in shape like a fun new swimsuit! Luckily this year, the trends focus on bright, fun prints and styles which is something we all need right now. Top 6 2020 Swimwear Trends

1. Tie Dye Print

It should come as no surprise that tie dye print swimsuits are trending for 2020. Tie dye was actually a 2019 trend that picked up steam earlier this year and has since exploded since the beginning of quarantine. In difficult times like these, people want to be surrounded by bright, whimsical colors, and tie-dye is the perfect print to fill the need. As summer approaches, you’ll soon see girls swapping their tie dye lounge sets for swim sets.

2. Animal Print

Animal print has been a trend that’s held steady over the past couple of years. It was probably going to fade out come fall, however, with the on set of the Tiger King phenomenon, it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon! All of the following prints are Carol Baskin approved!

3. Belted Detail

Swimwear is getting a new accessory: belts! If you only try one trend this year, I highly suggest it’s this one. A belted detail is a great way to accentuate the waist, and it’s a style that compliments all figures and body types.

4. Brown Tones

Brown tone swimsuit might be my favorite trend of 2020. There is no better color to show off a rich summer tan. There is such a variety of suits that come in all different shades, it’s easy to find one to compliment any skin tone. I am betting that brown tone swimwear will be a trend that will definitely carry into 2021, so now is the time to make the investment!

5. Underwire

Bikini tops don’t really go out of style, but every few seasons there is one that takes center stage. The triangle top, bandeau, halter have all been the frontrunner in season’s past, but this year it’s all about the underwire bra style. I for one am very happy about this trending top. Whether you have a small bust or not, it’s nice to have some extra support!

6. Tropical Florals

Tropical florals are another print that is trending for 2020. Like tie dye, it’s definitely a trend we can all use right now. Luckily, there are so many bright colors and patterns to choose from this year, one is sure to catch your eye!
