It’s sandal season! And while my non-pedicured toes might not be ready, the rest of me is! As quarantine continues and summer heats up, it’s time to swap your slippers for some cute trendy sandal slides!

If you invest in any new items this summer, I highly suggest it’s bikinis or sandals now that the beaches have opened. We will all probably be spending a majority of our time there and it’s one of the few places we’ll be seen in public.

Luckily there are some hot new sandal trends this season and some really cute styles to give your feet the much needed treat they deserve. There are a lot of twists on classic styles: thongs get an upgrade, heels go geometric, and it’s hip to be square. I’ve curated a collection of the latest styles at all price points for each of the top 2020 sandal trends and Styles. As usual, no matter your price point, age, or body type, there’s something for everyone below.

Top 2020 Summer Sandal Trends

Sandal Trend #1: Slides

A sandal slide should be a closet summer staple. This year, it’s all about the square toe. Croc texture is also a big trend for the season. And if you want to really make a statement, embellishments like buckles and fringe are all the rage.

Sandal Trend #2: Knotty

It’s time to get knotty! This is one of my favorite trends of the season. Knot-details are a super chic detail that gives an elevated look to the classic sandal.

Sandal Trend #3: Strappy

Strappy sandals are always trending, but this year, its all about the thin strap gladiator look. In previous years, the straps on gladiator styles wrapped all the way up the calf. Thankfully for us petites with short legs, ankle high wrap straps are the style for 2020. If you have been hesitant to try the gladiator inspired trend in the past, this is the year to go for it! This style is a lot more flattering in my opinion.

Sandal Trend #4: Geometric Kitten Heels

This is a trend that I am REALLY excited about. I think a geometric heel is such a fun detail that makes a big statement. When paired with the right look, it can really add a level of sophistication to any outfit.

Sandal Trend #5 Toe Loop

Toes might not be getting love from the nail salon, but they are getting them from sandals. The big toe loop is a super popular look this season. There are a lot of cute styles are really minimalist and sleek. These are sandals that go with anything!

Sandal Trend #6: Thongs

Like the slide, the thong is a classic that will never go out of style. This season, they are being risen to a whole new level – literally! Thong kitten heels and platforms were all over the runways of fashion week last year, and now they have gone mainstream. I think this trend is going to be really popular for the next couple of seasons, so now is the time to invest!

Sandal Trend #6: Platforms

Since chunky combat boots were the IT shoe of Fall/Winter, it should come as no surprise that Dr. Marten has evolved their classic boot into a chunky platform for Spring/Summer. Combat boots were something I were never able to fully embrace with my body type. The chunky platform is definitely more figure flattering and wearable, so I may give it a try!
