Tie-dye is here to Stay in Fall 2020. Here’s How To Wear it.

I thought I had exhausted tie-dye trend content in 2020, but I am back for another post!  I recently polled my followers and asked if they were still loving the tie-dye trend and an overwhelming majority said yes.  This threw me through a loop!  After spending day-after-day in quarantine rotating my tie-dye loungewear, I thought I was over and done with the print and ready to retire it this fall. That is, until I got this super cute long-sleeve pink tie-dye top from Project Social T.  I suddenly realized that I, like my followers, am still aboard the tie-dye train and I’m not ready to get off just yet!

Here is why the tie-dye trend will continue into Fall 2020:

  • We haven’t dressed it up

If you’re like me, you probably really only worn and invested in tie-dye loungewear and other casual pieces. Since most of our summer vacations were cancelled, we haven’t purchased any dressy tie-dye pieces.  Now is the perfect time to experiment with some more elevated looks.

  • We haven’t “FALLen” in love with it yet

Tie-dye has typically been viewed as a “spring” trend, most often seen in resort wear collections, but that got me thinking, why not fall?  There are so many patterns and colors that exist besides the traditional pastel and neon hues, which brings me to my next point:

  • We haven’t explored the dark side of tie-dye

So many labels have introduced some fun dark tie-dye prints that are perfect to add to your fall wardrobe.

  • It’s the perfect transitional style

Tie-dye is the perfect transitional print for summer to fall.  It’s a good way to ease into the fall season without one day just going full booties and plaid.

  • It’s not going anywhere.

Tie-dye continued to be a hot print in the resort 2021 collections which means it’s not fading away anytime soon.  That makes it a perfect time to invest in “tie-dye chic” pieces you can wear now through next year.

  • We’ve invested in tie-dye face masks

Tie-Dye face masks are everywhere, and since the mask mandate is probably here to stay for a while, so will our tie-dye facemasks.

  • It makes us happy 🙂

I’ve talked about this in previous posts, but there is something about tie-dye that evokes a feeling of happiness and joy, which is what we’ve all needed in 2020.  If it continues to make us happy, so what if it’s a little oversaturated?

Here are some of my favorite tie-dye pieces that you can add to your fall 2020 wardrobe.  The subtler prints and darker shades make for a perfect fall print.
