I have been having MAJOR 70’s vibes lately. I don’t know if it’s because I dressed up as roller disco girl for Halloween, or the fact I’ve been watching HBO’s The Deuce and been feeling inspired by all the fashion on the show. Either way –the 70s’ are making a comeback! Slinky silk dresses have taken over the runways, and Gigi and Kendall have been spotted rocking bell bottoms all over town.
Being petite, I am SO happy about the flare return. The flare cut is such a flattering style that can really add the illusion of length to legs and balance out proportion if you have rounder hips like I do. I got these brown flare pants at Forever21. They are a little long on me, but I planned on wearing them with high stiletto heels as pictured here. I wanted as little of the shoe to be visible, giving my legs as much length as possible. Right now, brown is the new black, and corduroy fabric is everywhere, so these pants really touch on the many 70’s trends that are hot this fall. Not ready to go full on Saturday Night Fever (like I apparently am), and want to be a bit subtler about your return to disco? I recommend a pant option that is either flare, corduroy, OR brown, and not all three 🙂
The top I am wearing is a bodysuit from Boohoo petites. Honestly pairing the two was a total accident! I was trying on a bunch of clothes I had ordered online and tried on the bodysuit first. I was too lazy to take the bodysuit off and threw the pants on over to see how they fit. When I looked in the mirror, I realize the two went really well together. I was giving off total 70’s vibes. The silk bell sleeve is subtle enough while adding another element of 70’s flare, but the color and cut helps keep it in this decade.
I know I went a little overboard with the round yellow tinted sunglasses, but I couldn’t help myself! I threw a lot of trends together which is usually a big no-no, but eh, gotta live a little! When I found this little entryway and saw the tile floor, I knew it was go disco or go home 🙂
What do you guys think about the return to 70’s fashion? What trends do you think deserve a comeback, and which ones do you think need to return to the vault?
